Boryslav ozokerite deposit

Historical information about the object

Opened in 1853. In 1874 (the period of the greatest prosperity of the ozokerite industry) the production of ozokerite reached 19,650 tons. Later, due to the depletion of available for artisanal development (shallow) raw materials, the total production of ozokerite decreased sharply. During the Soviet era, ozokerite production increased to 800-1,000 tons per year.
